Every year the government of Unites States of America will hold a program name diversity lottery to give chance for immigrants from eligible country to enter the United States. US Government also will issue ineligible countries; citizens from these countries can’t enter the diversity lottery for that year until the country become eligible.
Immigrants who wish to enter United States for live and working and hopefully become US citizens in the future years will enter this Free Green Card Lottery. There are millions of people from all over the world will enter the lottery. In 2009 approximately 17 million applicants enter the free green card lottery.
According figure above the chance of winning is 0.3% per applicants since every year the US government will only issue 55.000 winners from all around the world. Winner will be selected randomly using a computer program. This can be conclude that 1 winner will be selected from 340 applicants.
Winner will have the opportunity to live and work in the United States then becoming US citizen when they are qualified in the future years with their spouse and any children under 21 years old who are not got married yet.
When submitting application, Applicants must include complete and correct:
- Biographical
- Complete Contact Address and Number
- Employment Status
- Education
That’s including all family members who enter the Free Green Card as well.
Put in mind that applicants must have a minimum of diploma equivalent to high school or 12 years of study or an alternatively they must have a minimum of two years of working experience in the last five years in a job that requires at least two years of full time employment.
Enrollment will open each fall and lottery winners are notified by mail the following spring/summer.
After live and work in the United States, some of the green card holder usually want to get their Citizenship USA. By becoming US citizen they have the right to hold US passport and vote in general election.
